The Mental Health Crisis Alliance is a public-private partnership comprised of hospitals, health plans, nonprofits, consumers, and government that measurably improves the mental health crisis response system in the Twin Cities East Metro area. The alliance created an innovative Urgent Care for Adult Mental Health program that created a model of service to provide the right care at the right time regardless of the consumer’s ability to pay. Efforts include consolidation of patient resources under one roof to ease access to care, programs focused on short-term crisis care that keep patients out of the emergency room and save money and resources, and convening public-stakeholders for problem solving at the system level.
