The General Organization of Bilingual Ticuna Teachers (Organizacao Geral dos Professores Ticuna Bilingues - OGPTB) is an Indian entity, created in 1986, and which to which over 400 Indian teachers from six municipalities in the High Solimoes region currently belong. OGPTB has as its main goal to support Indian teachers in running their classes, developing a number of actions seeking to implement a differentiated and quality education, planned and managed by the teachers themselves and by the communities. The Organization carries out a crucial role in the relationship between Indian teachers and other institutions, such as local governments, in the struggle to strengthen the Indian schools.
