The PRONAMACHS, in their struggle to overcome poverty have decided to install a dairy farm, of which the members of the Ancaro Conservationist Committee are the participants and beneficiaries. This dairy farm allows them to increase the value of the milk, through dairy products such as cheese and yogurt, and thus, increase their income and improve the social-economic situation of the milk producers. Among the main achievements of the program are: (1) consolidation and strengthening of the Ancaro Conservationist Committee through joint work and cooperation; (2) installation of a model dairy plant with 300 liter/day capacity, which uses 60 percent of the milk production of the community, and is a solid, responsible and competitive enterprise; (3) increase in the income of the beneficiaries, with direct repercussion in the income of the population in general; and (4) capacitating of the Conservationist Committee in dairy and administrative technology.
