Norma Ramos is a longstanding public interest attorney and an eco-feminist who links the worldwide inequality of women to the destruction of the environment. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW), which is the world’s first organization to fight against human trafficking internationally, now in its twenty - second year. In July 2010, she co - led a demonstration held at Craigslist’s headquarters, co - sponsored by 85 leading human rights organizations, which led Craigslist to close its Adult Services section that was facilitating sex trafficking. She is the former executive director of the Rainforest Foundation and serves on the board of the National Hispanic Environmental Council. In 2010, she was awarded the Hispanic National Bar Association Commission on Latinas in the Legal Profession Annual Award recognizing pioneer Latina lawyers who have made outstanding contributions to the Latino community.
