Wendy Poston’s twins are completing high school, but she credits much of their success to their preschool years. At the Rise School of Dallas, she says, they learned not only how to read, write and count, but also how to be compassionate. “They learned lifelong lessons that they wouldn’t learn at any other preschool,” she said of her twins, one of whom has Down syndrome. “The Rise School will always be part of our lives.” In the past few months, the Rise School has attracted attention because it’s part of a controversial proposal to build a larger Park Cities YMCA....
