This Rappaport Institute Policy Brief by Anthony Braga, a lecturer at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and Christopher Winship, a professor in Harvard's Sociology Department and at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. In the brief, Braga and Winship highlight their research on how the police and community came together in the 1990s to fight a massive increase in violent crime, whether that effort was successful, and what lessons it might suggest for those trying to fight similar problems today.
