Ali is an MPA '18 candidate at Harvard Kennedy School. Ali spent the last few years in the public and the nonprofit sectors. In Toronto, he worked in education policy on initiatives to increase access for post-secondary education in the Canadian province of Ontario, and also in financial product regulations. Previously, he coauthored Ontario's first-ever economic and environmental impact analysis study on the electric vehicle industry in the province. He also worked in economic development and sector strategy for the province of Nova Scotia to create economic development opportunities in niche industry areas such as information and communication technologies (ICT) and clean technology.
