The Power of Social Innovation Series #4
August 3 from 12 pm to 1 pm (EDT)
~This free event is a Webinar and takes place online. Registration required.~
Even the largest and most successful organizations can reach but a few people without engaging the dominant funder in the social sector—government. Yet many entrepreneurs intentionally avoid entanglement that they think will be too political and bureaucratic. How do successful social innovations navigate this tension in their pursuit of systemic change?
This Webinar, sponsored by the Government Innovators Network and the Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy, will feature two experienced social entrepreneurs who understand the challenges and rewards of interacting with government—from school superintendents to state-level cabinet agencies to members of the U.S. Congress. How has their view of scale and the role of government in their work evolved? What lessons have they learned along the way?
With participation from the audience, our panel will derive a set of common sense principles and strategies to help public officials, social entrepreneurs and citizens produce extraordinary social change.
Ample time will be allocated for audience Q&A.
